Jason,
You should look at the Nortel Alteon Content Director - it's designed
to do what you describe in looking at the proximity to the client rather
than the client DNS - an important distinction.
Phil.

Subject: [load balancing] GSLB & Client's proximity to server farms
Based on everyone's experiences here, does any vendor have a sound
method for dynamically directing clients to GSLB server farms based on
the client's proximity to the farms? From everything I've read, it
would seem that the current GSLB implementations direct the client to
the site that has the best health and response time based on
calculations done between the SLB and the servers in a certain farm,
not between the GSLBs and the clients.
Any info?
