I`m going to try to answer your questions:
- In the alteon, for that two web servers i only have a VIP with HTTP service. The comunication between the WebServers and Database Server (Oracle) are only L2 and L3, and individually.
For exemple: There are a HTTP request from a client to one of the WebServer and When the WebServer needs some data from the DatabaseServer (DBServer), it established a connection using the TCP port 1521 (TNS protocol) to get that data information. The WebServer ip address 192.168.1.5 tries to connect with DBServer 192.168.1.9 in the DMZ, and the firewall translate that address (NAT) to the real ip address 10.0.10.30 of the (DBServer). This works fine when i only have one WebServer doing that request to the DBserver, because when i have the two WebServers requesting information from the WebServer 5% of the times the connections fails.

Well, some questions:
1 - both webservers can connect to database ? If you enter in the each web server and execute telnet to database on the port 1521 you have success ?
2 - Based on the question above, through telnet and client access to webservers the request from webservers are being to database with some ip address of the source or not ?
3 - Are you receiving any type of error from Database ? if yes which will be ?

Hi Adilson,
I configured the hash metric and I still have the same issue.
The Web Servers and the database server use the TNS - Transparent Network Substrate Protocol to communicate between them.
I don´t known if this can help you, helping me to find the source of the problem and the solution?

I have a alteon AA2424SSL balancing some Web Servers. One of the groups have two Web Servers. That Web Servers are in the DMZ and they need to pick up some data(text, pictures, etc) from one database server in the LAN. With only one server working in the group everything since to work ok, but with the two web servers active some times some of the connections between the Web Servers and the Database Server fails. Anyone have a clue of what could be the cause of this.
