Hi Andrew, I am using Apache AB as the benchmarking tool. This is the command and the options: [root [izzat] box~]# ab -n 50000 -c 1000 -k http://10.1.1.182/index.html -n 50000 = Open 50.000 connections -c 1000 = by batches of 1000 connections -k = use keepalive On the F5 side I have a VIP and a Pool with 4 Nodes, no connection limit configured. And RoundRobin. On your comment, how would I know if the F5 is throwing away handshakes? And if it thinks its been DOS'd theres nothing I could do, other than admit its for its benefit. Thanks! And what’s the length of each connection? How’s the BigIP setup? What profiles are you using? I’m wondering if there’s issues with lots of half-open/ queued handshakes that the BigIP is throwing away? Or if the BigIP thinks it’s being DoS’d. 4.6 was such a long time ago.... When i run the test, generating 50.000 connections against each apache, works great. When I run the test, generating 50.000 connections against the VIP i get: Completed 5000 requests Completed 10000 requests apr_socket_recv: Connection reset by peer (104) Total of 11469 requests completed Looks like F5 resets connections after 10.000 connections.
