hrm. you win the 'find the fool' prize. i thought it was, but it was
not. i thought client was the default. i guess not. once added, the
alteon responded to arps for the vip immediately and everything
started working.
sorry to have troubled everyone. all of your help has been v. much
appreciated.
if anyone has any comments (in constrast to Raul) on whether DSR is
ever a bad idea (other than the not being able to do sophisticated
layer 7 things due to not seeing the response), i would love to hear
about it.
