You mentioned 'zone'. Can I have it as authoritative for a single record,
and does it
do zone transfers? I can live without zone.transfer capabilities, but I
need to be able
to transfer auth from one DNS server, for a single record, to the box, not
an entire zone
Thanks
/Johnny

Hi,
yes it can do GSLB. It acts as a authoritative NS for a zone
and function is comparable to the CSS. We made good experience with it.

Betreff: [load balancing] Alteon and DNS
Hi,
Can the Alteon box(es) act as a DNS server like the Cisco CSS box can?
I am looking for a kinda global load balancing mechanism like the CSS can
do, but
on the Alteon box(es).
If it can act as a DNS Server, can it also do zone transfers, can it do
'intelligent'
load balancing based on DNS, like the CSS? What is its DNS 'capabilities'
Thanks for any pointers or URLs.
/Johnny
