These are a few screenshots of what you can do with MRTG on a load balancer:

This image shows a graph of an Alteon's concurrent sessions and bandwidth out of its main Fast Ethernet port:

These graphs go into further granularity, showing weekly and monthly graph in addition to the past 36 hours:


This graph shows how we can graph current connections, connections per second, and bandwidth out of an F5 BIG-IP unit.


Here is a graph covering a period of 36 hours showing connections per second, as in how many times in a given second connections are initiated.
